Prodigy Window Films recently applied a non-reflective solar window film to one of Victoria’s newest buildings, the Songhees Native Wellness Centre.

The Songhees First Nation, http://songheesnation.ca/ is located in Victoria British Columbia and has just completed the construction of a $25M state-of-the-art wellness centre for its people and surrounding community. However, once the building was occupied, solar heat gain became a major issue on the south facing waterfront building so Prodigy Window Films was called in to help mitigate this problem.

Our solar window film is almost invisible and is now reducing over 50% of the solar heat gain and solar glare without changing the esthetic look to the glazing.

Premium solar window films are almost clear, like regular glass and offer high heat rejection and 99% UV reduction. Market demand for clearer, lighter solar window films are starting to drive our market and new technological advances are creating products that offer what only the older silver (mirrored) solar films could once offer.

Office occupants within the wellness centre can now enjoy the incredible water views during the day without having to close their blinds and the treated glass is providing them with additional seismic protection should an event strong enough to fracture the glass occur.
